La Torrassa is an old watchtower of Roman origin located on a hill in the Corredor massif, at an altitude of over 300 metres. It is a privileged viewpoint with panoramic views over the Vall\u00e8s, Montseny, the Mogent valley, the Maresme valleys and, on clear days, even the sea. Its natural surroundings and historical interest make it a highly recommended excursion for families, hikers and heritage lovers. <\/p>\n
The original structure is Roman, from the Republican period, with a circular base of 9.34 meters in diameter built with large granite ashlars (opus quadratum). Later, a medieval structure was added \u2014with less regular stones\u2014 reaching 12 meters in height. In the 20th century, a crown was built that turned it into a viewpoint and hunting shelter. <\/p>\n
In 1891, Joan Teixid\u00f3, owner of the Can Puigvert estate, transformed the Torrassa into a hunting lodge, adding two floors: one with a kitchen and dining room, and the other with bedrooms and access to a sloping roof supported by iron beams, which allowed views of the entire region. This intervention partially altered its original appearance, but also allowed its partial conservation for decades. <\/p>\n
After years of abandonment and plundering, in 2009 the Torrassa was ceded to the Llinars City Council by the owners Jordi and Carles Garcia. In 2010 a restoration was carried out with the support of the European FEDER fund: the structure was consolidated, the modern roof was demolished, the base was refilled, an interior spiral staircase was installed and an exterior stone wall was built that promotes its visibility. <\/p>\n
La reinauguraci\u00f3 es va fer el 28 de mar\u00e7 de 2011, amb pres\u00e8ncia de les autoritats municipals i de la Generalitat. Avui la Torrassa \u00e9s un espai visitable els caps de setmana i festius al mat\u00ed. L\u2019acc\u00e9s es fa a peu des del nucli urb\u00e0, per camins senyalitzats i aptes per a tots els p\u00fablics. Forma part de rutes que inclouen tamb\u00e9 l\u2019ermita de Sant Esteve del Coll o el Cau de la Mostela. <\/p>\n
