Church of Sant Esteve del Coll

A rural gem between nature and memory

Surrounded by forests and open fields, Sant Esteve del Coll is an old church with deep historical roots and great harmony with the natural environment of Llinars del Vallès. Located just over 3 km from the town centre, its serene silhouette stands tall over a medieval parish documented since 1023, although the current building dates from the 16th century, with later renovations that have given it a sober and welcoming character.

With a single nave and a polygonal apse, the plan takes the form of a Latin cross thanks to two side chapels. The bell tower, with battlements, and the interior with almond-shaped arches and Gothic ornamentation, preserve architectural details of high value. Inside you can admire the Virgin of the Rosary, a 17th-century image of special artistic relevance.

The church is part of the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, and still preserves walls and elements of its original rural setting, witnesses to the agricultural past that surrounded it. A few meters away, the monumental arboç cherry tree —one of the last examples of this centenary species in Catalonia— adds botanical and emotional interest to the visit.

The signposted access road connects with hiking and mountain bike routes, and allows you to combine the visit with other points such as La Torrassa or Cau de la Mostela II. On weekends in the morning the church is usually open to the public, and every first Sunday of August it hosts its traditional festival.

Sant Esteve del Coll is a perfect stop for those looking for heritage, silence and nature in the same experience.
