At 406 meters above sea level, among the paths of the Corredor massif and with open views of the Vallès and the coast, stands the hermitage of Sant Sebastià de Puigpedrós, a small mountain chapel that combines heritage, nature and community. Located within the municipality of Llinars del Vallès, it is a common stopover for hikers and cyclists who travel the forest routes in the area.
Documented since the 17th century, the hermitage lay in ruins for decades, until in 2016 a group of neighbors and local entities promoted its reconstruction, recovering its original dimensions and using materials that respect the traditional typology. The result is a sober and harmonious building, 10 by 5 meters, with stone buttresses, an arched doorway, granite windows and a small gabled bell tower that tops the facade.
The interior is simple and welcoming, designed for meetings and celebrations. Although it does not preserve original period elements, the space maintains the spirit of rural mountain hermitages, where silence, light and landscape are an essential part of the experience.
Every January, the hermitage hosts the Sant Sebastià gathering, a popular festival that had been lost and was recovered following the reconstruction. It includes mass, distribution of bread rolls and a collective breakfast, and has become a moment of coexistence and connection with local tradition.
The hermitage is open to the public on weekend mornings, from 10 am to 2 pm, weather permitting. It is accessible on foot via several signposted paths and is an ideal stop on routes that also include Sant Esteve del Coll, la Torrassa or Cau de la Mostela.
