Turó del Vent site

A key vestige of Iberian life in the territory

The site of Turó del Vent, also known as Poblat del Far, is an Iberian settlement located on a hill in the Corredor massif, within the municipality of Llinars del Vallès. This site, listed as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest, dominates a natural pass that connects the Vallès plain with the Maresme, a place of great strategic importance for the control of the territory.

The archaeological remains reveal an extensive settlement with fortification walls and over ninety silos for storing cereals. Tools related to metallurgy and textile production have also been found, confirming its function as a key logistical and economic centre for the Laietans, especially during the Second Punic War. This activity indicates that the site was not only an inhabited settlement, but also an important place for the production and redistribution of goods to the coast and beyond.

Inhabited between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC by the Laietan tribe, this location was part of a network of intelligent settlements that facilitated territorial control and trade before Romanization. Since the 1960s, the site has been the subject of continuous research, with particular prominence given to entities such as Laietània Arqueologia i Patrimoni, which have been working on its conservation and dissemination since 2017.

The site is easily accessible, with signage from the B-510 road and from the Camí del Far, and is integrated into several hiking routes that run through the Parc del Montnegre and the Corredor, offering visitors panoramic views of the Vallès and the passage to the Maresme. The visit is free during the day, although occasionally guided tours and educational activities designed especially for schools and families are organized, thus promoting an approach to the history and archaeological heritage of the territory.
