Can Letters

Located in the heart of the old town of Llinars del Vallès, Can Lletres is a traditional farmhouse that has managed to reinvent itself over time, becoming a living cultural space open to the community.

With a rectangular structure and stone walls, it retains the original appearance of a rural farmhouse, testimony to an agricultural past that is still visible in the town’s urban layout. This building is one of the highlights of the Faristols route, a network of heritage spaces that explain the evolution of Llinars from the rural world to the present day.

Formerly known as Can Gorostegui and later as Cal Baró de la Barre, the house was acquired by the City Council in 1985. For decades it hosted the Retirement Home, a meeting and socializing space for the elderly. In 2012, however, it began a new stage as a Municipal Permanent Training Center, responding to the educational and cultural needs of the town.

Today, Can Lletres offers workshops, courses, talks and activities for all ages, as part of Llinars’ cultural programming. It is an accessible and multipurpose facility, committed to lifelong education, cultural life and social cohesion, which connects past and present with an open view of the future.
