Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931) was a multifaceted artist and a key figure of Catalan modernism who left a profound mark on Llinars del Vallès. During his summer stays, he became a much-loved summer visitor and energized the cultural and festive life of the town.

Known as Don Santiago, he organized unique events, such as donkey races with professional riders, a bullfight in a tent and the takeoff of a hot air balloon so that the villagers could contemplate the town from the sky. Rusiñol also spent a lot of time painting and writing in local cafes, especially Can Taulats and the one at the Can Gay cinema, where he wrote the novel En Josepet de Sant Celoni in the summer of 1917.

For those who want to know more about its presence in Llinars, the lectern in the Town Hall square offers a clear and accessible explanation. This space allows us to imagine the imprint of a beloved artist who knew how to turn Llinars into part of its own history and culture.
